Our vets know horses.  In addition to their specialized training in equine health and surgery, the doctors at Acadiana Equine Clinic have years of experience working within the horse racing and breeding industries and are actively involved in state and national veterinary organizations

Dr. Eddie Cramer

A 2002 graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Cramer has lived his entire life in Southern Louisiana, growing up in Crowley.  "I have been in an exclusive equine veterinary practice since the time of my graduation with a particular focus on equine reproduction," Dr. Cramer said. "I began maintaining a herd of recipient mares for the purpose of embryo transfer five years ago."  

Dr. Cramer has done an extensive amount of embryo transfer work for Robicheaux Ranch, Blanchet Farms, Tate Farms, Jumonville Farms, and a large number of individual racehorse clients.

"While my focus over the past few years has been on the mare side of the equation, we have expanded to provide additional stallion services," Dr. Cramer said. "We are looking to growing our stallion roster and services.”  

Dr. James "Sonny" Corley
Dr. Corley is a 1980 graduate of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and has nearly 30 years of experience providing medical care to performance horses. His specialties include equine reproduction, orthopedics and lameness. Dr. Corley was president of the AAVSB for two years, a member of the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine for five years and chairman for one year. He is married to Edna Dean, a small animal veterinarian, and they have two children, Margaret and Benjamin. Dr. Corley's hobbies include marlin fishing and flying.

Dr. Justin Jensen
Dr. Jensen grew up on a cow-calf and horse ranch in Eastern Nebraska. he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2009. Upon graduation, he began working for Acadiana Equine Clinic. His clinical interest include equine reproduction, cow-calf production, and embryo transfer. Dr. Jensen is a member in good standing of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, The American Association of Equine Practitioners, The American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and Academy Veterinary Consultants. He spends his free time with his wife, Jill, and daughter, Marissa.

Dr. Petrisor Baia

Dr. Petrisor Baia is a native of Romania, born and raised in the city of Severin.  He obtained his DVM degree from Banat's University of Agriculture Sciences and Veterinary Medicine - Timisoara, Romania, which he completed in 2004.  Dr. Baia came to the United States to pursue a career in equine medicine and surgery. 

  His first few years in the states was working in private practice.  He completed an internship at Chino Valley Equine Hospital in Southern California in 2007 followed by another internship at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in Texas in 2008.  In 2009, Dr. Baia came to Louisiana State University to complete an Equine Medicine/Surgery Internship, followed by a combined equine surgery residency and a M.S. in Biomedical Sciences, completed in 2013.  

  Since completing his residency at LSU, Dr. Baia joined Acadiana Equine Clinic in August of 2013.  His primary interests are orthopedics and soft tissues surgery, as well as sports medicine and diagnostic imaging.  When Dr. Baia is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children.  Some of his interests outside of work include outdoors activities, cycling, tennis, and traveling.
